The purpose of UABE awards is to recognize a bilingual
teacher, an administrator, community member and a bilingual
student who have furthered the work of promoting bilingualism
through their exemplary service.
A nominee for this award must meet the following criteria:

BILINGUAL
TEACHER OF THE YEAR
|
 |
- Must have at least 3 years teaching experience in
a bilingual classroom.
- Must be Bilingual Endorsed and/or be in the process
of becoming Bilingual Endorsed.
- Must be implementing best teaching ESL/Bilingual
Strategies.
- Must adhere to high standards for him/herself as
a Bilingual Teacher.
- Must be someone who merits the respect and admiration
of students, parents and the community.

OF THE YEAR
|

- Must have a clear, articulated vision of Bilingual
Education.
- Must understand the value, purpose and importance
of Bilingual Education.
- Must be someone who merits the respect and admiration
of students, parents and the community.
- Must support efforts to implement Bilingual Education.
